Psychological Consultation

Psychological consultation involves seeking guidance and expertise from a licensed psychologist or other mental health professional to address various psychological, emotional, developmental, or behavioral concerns. The goal is to provide insights, education, recommendations, and practical strategies to address specific concerns. While therapy involves ongoing treatment and exploration of deeper issues, psychological consultation tends to be more focused on addressing specific challenges and providing targeted interventions. Some common reasons for seeking psychological consultation: self or family member recently diagnosed with autism, discussing mental health treatment options for self or family member, parenting strategies, and/or wanting to learn how to best support a loved one struggling with mental health issues.

Parent Consultation

Parent consultation refers to a process in which parents or caregivers seek guidance and support from a licensed clinician to address specific concerns related to child development, mental health concerns, parenting strategies, and/or family dynamics. The goal of parent consultation is to provide parents with information, insights, strategies, and help with navigating challenges. Some common reasons parents seek parenting consultation: behavioral or emotional issues, developmental concerns, issues related to autism spectrum, blended family concerns, discussing treatment options, and/or life transitions (e.g., college preparation ).
